COME & SEE!

DOW would like to invite all LWML sisters or Women’s groups to COME & SEE! our Sewing Seeds of Faith (SSOF) ministry.

DOW was blessed by a visit from our LWML Sisters from Bethel LC, Dallas and Tree of Life LC, Garland.

“That which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.”
– 1 John 1:3
DOW was recently visited by our LWML sisters from  Bethel LC, Dallas and Tree of Life LC, Garland. We had a wonderful Christ-centered time of fellowship. (Acts 2:42).
Pastor Karim led the group of women from all nations in a devotion. Afterward, everyone shared a delicious Kurdish and Afgani ethnic meal. During the lunch, some of the refugees shared their stories and expressed their gratitude for being part of the Women of the Way Sewing Seeds of Faith (SSOF) ministry. After lunch, everyone drank tea and prayed together.
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
– Acts 2:42

“Come & See” visitors and SSOF Women Praying with Pastor Karim

When the women come for sewing class, they hear the Word of Christ and are enthusiastic and eager to learn to sew. Many come ready to share food, fellowship, and daily experiences with their new DOW friends and classmates from many countries. After the class time they share pot-luck style lunch, with a devotion and prayers for the women’s worries and troubles; their joys and thankfulness. Thus the true meaning of Come and See and Hear while Sewing Seeds of Faith.
DOW Volunteers and Staff work with women from all nations to teach sewing, but the real goal is to build strong relationships for the glory and witness of Christ.

Listening to a Refugee’s Story

It is EVERY Christian’s responsibility to proclaim the Good News of the forgiveness and the love of God given through Christ Jesus. This is particularly important when working with refugee women because the end goal is that they may become Sisters in Christ; adopted by the same Father.
“And how are they to believe in him
of whom they have never heard?”
 – Romans 10:14b
Please prayerfully consider volunteering to build relationships with Refugee Women through Disciples of the Way and touch a life with the Love of Christ.
