Refugee Service Care Center (RSCC)
Coronavirus Information
The Refugee Service Center continues to help our refugee neighbors by appointment.
Extended Case Management Care (ECMC)
Given the complexities of modern life in America and the various systems involved, 3 months is nowhere near enough time to fully orient a refugee, or refugee family, to a US lifestyle. RSCC can function as an Extended Case Management Care (ECMC) center, supplementing DFW’s various Resettlement Agencies (Refugee Services of Texas, International Rescue Committee, and Catholic Charities).
Our compassionate staff know the struggles of adjusting to the American way of life. They can address the problems in our refugee neighbors’ lives with grace in a
language they understand. Our refugee neighbors are drawn to DOW’s services because they feel known and cared for by the RSCC staff that can communicate with them in English, Standard Arabic, and Kurdish.
The RSC Extended Case Management Care goes “above and beyond” assimilation assistance and continues to stay in touch and reach out to its neighbors by holding various celebration activities during the year. This includes a Thanksgiving Feast, a Mother & Children Christmas gift gathering, as well as home visits and phone calls. During the Covid-19 crisis, when the government programs completely shut down, RSC kept its doors open, followed the CDC advisory protocols, and continued to assist families in the unprecedented crisis.
