Home Visits

DOW’s Home Visits provide opportunities for:

  • Building Genuine Relationships

“We love because he first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19

  • Refugee Service Center Follow-up

Home visits allow a relaxed environment to catch-up with our neighbors about problems the RSC has helped resolve. Disciples of the Way embraces these opportunities to follow John’s exhortations to love “in deed and in truth” (1 John 3:18) by assisting with the physical needs of our neighbors.

  • Prayer

Prayer is the foundation of Disciples of the Way Ministries’ Home Visit program. We pray with our neighbors in their homes about their lives, their health, their concerns and worries. We let them know that we are here with them spiritually and emotionally, as well as helping them physically through the RSC.

“Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’
And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him.
But if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide,
for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.
Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you.
Heal the sick in it and say to them,
‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’” – Luke 10:5-9
