Refugee Service Center

Mission: To help refugees achieve self-reliance and assimilate into American society

Vision: To build a thriving community of assimilated and productive refugees in the Dallas area

The Refugee Service Center has a unique opportunity to provide services beyond the scope of other resettlement agencies in the Dallas area.  We seek staff and volunteers who have a passion to help improve the lives of our new neighbors through programs designed to instill American values of hard work, dedication, and self-worth.

We counsel our Refugee Neighbors on the importance of budgeting their monthly expenses and income, planning their career path and improving their situation. We also counsel them on the importance of being punctual during the hiring process and on the job, communicating with their supervisor, and committing to work hard at a job for at least 6 months.

Our Staff have done an excellent job of reaching out to their communities, and have brought in many new neighbors with a variety of needs, whom we have been able to connect with and enroll in DOW’s RSC programs to help improve their lives.

The variety of nationalities that we have been able to serve are a direct reflection of our staff’s commitment to their respective communities.

The largest need across the communities has been assistance in finding jobs.  The RSC has also helped our neighbors to apply for healthcare, affordable housing, food stamps, and Citizenship classes
