Our History

Disciples of The Way Ministries (DOW) is an outreach mission to immigrant and refugee communities started by Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LC-MS) pastors and leaders.

DOW continues to meet the needs the refugee community in Dallas.

  • 2016

    Refugee Service Center

    Disciples of the Way Ministries founded a new ministry in November 2016 to assist the refugee community in Dallas. The Refugee Service Center (RSC) provides employment assistance, medical translation, and help applying for foodstamps (SNAP), among other services

  • 2012

    Disciples of the Way Ministires

    POBLO-TX was renamed Disciples of the Way Ministries (DOW). DOW has raised up and trained mission-minded leaders and planted ethnic churches from all nations in multiple sites in the Dallas & Fort Worth area.

  • 2005

    POBLO-TX

    Pastor Karim Baidaoui was called by Texas District of the LCMS to organize a Mission Board of Directors to help him start, lead, and support the ministry of People of the Book Lutheran Outreach, Texas (POBLO-TX). Pastor Karim had just completed his studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

    People of the Book Lutheran Outreach (POBLO) was established in 1993 in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
