of the Way Ministries, formerly known as People of the Book Lutheran
Outreach (POBLO-TX), is a Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS)
mission society dedicated to reaching Muslims, sharing the Good News of
Jesus Christ with Muslim
people, both domestically and internationally, through Gospel
proclamation, personal friendships, and loving service. Through these
means we make disciples, raise up and train missional leaders and plants
churches so that new believers can worship the Triune God in their own
language and cultural style.
The goal of Disciples of the Way is to raise up spiritual leaders among
Muslims and establish Christ-worshiping communities within them.
It is the hope and prayer of Disciples of the Way Ministries that these
resources might be used to help other Lutheran churches as they look for
ways to minister to Muslims in their communities.
this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one
could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing
before the throne and in front of the Lamb . . .And they cried out in a
loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and
to the Lamb."
Out of the blue, God and the former members of
Zion Lutheran Church, Watauga, TX have given DOW a marvelous expansion
opportunity. They have presented DOW with an unexpected gift, their
whole church facility, a relatively new building. The big challenge for us now is how to maximize the usage of this wonderful, unanticipated present.
Besides giving DOW a golden opportunity to extend its ministries into
another part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, it gives us space to
set up a library-training facility for any and all who are serious about
learning how to talk with Muslim neighbors or family members, interact
with Muslim co-workers or Muslim parents whose children go to their
children's schools -- all with a goal of being faithful to our living
Lord Jesus Christ, who died for Muslims, too, and now lives for them as
well. Click here for the recent Church Dedication.
"Sewing Seeds of Faith One Stitch at a Time," is a new program lead by trained mission minded women and consists of teaching sewing skills to other ethnic women, making friends with them and their children and raising up leaders from among them to become new missionaries in order to bring the Gospel to 25,000+ refugees in the immediate vicinity of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (the home base of DOW Ministries in Dallas).
Disciples of the Way (DOW) formerly POBLO-TX, is a Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) mission society dedicated to reaching Muslims both domestically and internationally. It is our goal to raise up spiritual leaders among Muslims and establish Christ-worshiping communities within them.
