Board of Directors for Disciples of the Way, a ministry of the Texas District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod

Mission & Vision

MISSION STATEMENT:

Disciples of the Way Ministries’ Mission Statement is:

“Reaching, Teaching, Working, and Living with people from all nations to make Disciples of the Cross from all nations”.

Our mission and all our ministries are based in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20).

VISION STATEMENT:

The Vision Statement for Disciples of the Way Ministries comes directly from God’s vision for His church on earth as it is in heaven.

It is summarized in Revelation 7:9-10:

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no-one could count,
from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb…”

We share God’s Word because it is for all (Phil. 2:6).

We build relationships and are ready to speak the hope that is within us (1 Pet. 3:15).

We answer questions and use every opportunity to share what we have seen and heard (1 Jn. 1:3). Once we were in darkness, but now we are a people of light (1 Pet. 2:9).

We shine for Christ, the Light of the World (John 1:9).   “….I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest”.

Our mission focus is to seek to build strong relationships with refugee families so that we can witness through Christ-centered relationships. These relationships allow us as Christians to demonstrate Christ’s love and witness; not only with our mouths, but also through our actions and our lives. Our hope is that, through continuing witness, many will be baptized into the family of God.

“Reaching, Teaching and Living among our Muslim neighbors and making disciples of the Cross from All Nations”

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”

2Timothy 2:2

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb . . .And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
